Taipei 101
One of the tallest buildings in the world with 608 meters high. This building is called Taipei 101 because it has 101 floors, located in the district of Xinyi, Taipei. This building is also known as the Taipei International Financial Building.
The skyscraper is located in downtown Taipei and just a few blocks from the Taipei World Trade Center. You can go up to floor 91 to see the sights of Taipei city from 509 meters high. To go to the top of the building, you will use the world's fastest elevator, which broke the Guinness World of Records. In just 37 seconds, you will immediately ascend from the bottom to the 89th floor to see the view.
Taipei 101 Tower was inaugurated on December 31, 2004, at the New Year celebrations. This building has 450,000 square meters area, with 214,000 square meters as office area, 77,500 square meters of commercial space and 73,000 square meters as parking lot.
However, since January 2010, the Taipei 101 tower is no longer the tallest tower in the world because it has been surpassed by the Burj Khalifa in Dubai with 818 meters high.
Shilin Night Market
Shilin Night Market is the largest night market and the most famous in Taipei Taiwan, especially if you are looking for food, and is a favorite place for tourists to enjoy the nightlife in Taiwan.
The night market is located near the former dock in Keelung River. Shiilin night market was officially established in this area in 1909.
Shilin night market has around 539 stalls, the parking area can accommodate approximately 400 cars. Besides food, there are many traders and other entertainment venues around Shiling night market, such as clothing, souvenirs, karaoke and cinema.
Beitou Hot Springs
This is where you can enjoy the peace and quiet, immersed in the warmth and steam heated pool in the beautiful resort. There are many hot springs in Taipei, but the most famous area is in Beitou. This area is famous for its hot springs bathing resort since 1986. With beautiful gardens, museums, and temples around the city, you must visit this place during the holidays. We can enjoy with just 40 TWD for adults and 20 TWD for children.
Before bathing we can visit Hot Spring Museum, is an ancient building that was built during the Japanese occupation in Taiwan. On the left side we can also see Kaibagan museum, which tells the history of the indigenous people in Taiwan.
E-Da World
E-Da World is a shopping heaven in Asia. In addition the mall, there are several luxury hotels and residential properties. E-Da World is located in Kaohsiung, it has 90 hectares area. There is a Greek-style theme park, a university, and housing projects in this place.
E-Da World is built to meet the wishes from Chinese tourists who want a shopping and vacation place, because it is known that many Chinese people choose a vacation to other countries, such as Europe or US.
There is E-Da Mall with beautiful European-style architecture. Besides shopping mall, there are also other entertainment here, such as ice hockey, figure skating and speed skating.
Sun Moon Lake
Sun Moon Lake is located in Nantou Yuchih. It is the largest lake in Taiwan. The lake has stunning mountain that is divided by a small island in the eastern and western side.It is shaped like a crescent moon, so the lake was named Sun Moon Lake.
There is a mist on the lake and mountain in the morning, then the sun slowly illuminates the mountains, drove the white mist, and presents a beautiful lake view.
If you want more finding the beauty, try to walking down along the lake. In addition to walking, you can also ride a bike to go around the lake. Alternatively, you can also rent a boat and paddle boats can take you across the small waves. You will feel a different sensation from the waters and mountains.
Maokong Gondola
We can also take the cable car and enjoy the scenery in Taipei, including the Taipei 101. You can take the Metro Muzha line until the last station in Taipei Zoo. After that we have to walk about 300 meters to Gondola Station, the name is Taipei Zoo Station. There are four Gondola station, the Taipei Zoo, Taipei Zoo South Station, Zhinan Temple Station and Maokong Station.
Ticket prices is 30 TWD for one destination station, 40 TWD for two stations and 50 TWD for three stations. One day pass is not valid on Maokong Gondola. The Taipei Zoo station is only has 24 meters high, while the Maokong station about 290 meters.
Maokong Gondola recently began operations in July 2007, and now it is one of the favorite tourist spots in Taipei.
Chiang Kai-shek memorial Hall
Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is a landmark of Taipei which is usually used to celebrate national events. In this white marble walled building, visitors can learn the history of Chiang Kai-shek, the leader of Taiwan to visit the museum which is located in the basement.
There is also a statue of Chiang Kai-shek, like a statue during the reign. If you are not too interested in history, you can go to the park which is full of Chinese-style ceramics collection.
Yangmingshan National Park
If nature is your priority during a vacation in Taipei, Yamingshan National Park should be your first destination. The park is located 30 minutes drive from the city center. It has a beautiful view surrounded by rocky cliffs, mountain pastures and quiet lake.
The best time to visit here is around February and March, because the cherry blossoms were in full bloom and the garden of colorful flowers were showing off the beautifully colors.
The park is designed with the architectural culture of China. This national park is located near Mount Shamao and Mount Qixing. A tourist location that offers a majestic view of the mountains .
Taroko National Park
Taroko is one of the seven national parks in Taiwan, one of 8 featured attractions of Taiwan, and the best sights in eastern Taiwan. Taroko is a mountain range, located in eastern Taiwan stretching from Hualian to the border Nantou.
Taroko has about 902 square kilometers area and is internationally categorized by the IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature) as a national park.
You will walk through the tunnels under the mountain. Along the main line, there are some attractions that you can see. Such Eternal Spring Shrine, a Confucian temple was built on the edge of a small cliff near the waterfall. Or you can visit the Buluowan village, which is an ancient aboriginal village that was inhabited by indigenous aboriginal Taiwanese who showcased their handicraft works.
Yehliu Geopark
This park contains the giant stones that have strange shapes. One of them is the mushroom garden. Entering the first street in the park, you will find a stretch of rock shaped like a giant mushroom garden. In this place, you will be surrounded by dozens of giant mushroom-shaped rocks. The stones were scattered on the northern coast of Taiwan.
These stones are not carved by man. According to experts, the stones were formed naturally. The cause is the pounding waves in a very long time also rock weathering and movement of the Earth's crust.
Huaxi Night Market
Huaxi or hwahsi in the local dialect, it means Snake Alley, because this place is famous for its location where selling snake meat, lizards and other reptiles. They believe if the snakes and lizards bring health benefits. Huaxi Night Market is located next to the Longshan Pagoda, Taipei. This area is the old town on the banks of Danshu river.
If you take the MRT, you can get off at the Longshan Temple, then you can walk to the Huaxi night market. The market is open from 4:00 pm until 3:00 am. You will instantly feel the hustle and bustle when entering Huaxi night market. Various stalls lined the street and snatching your attention.
